This code snippet demonstrates how to discover the location (latitude and longitude) of the device using the Location Platform Service for Flash Lite supported from S60 5th Edition onwards.
Note: To get the location data the device's GPS needs to be active.
// Import Platform Service Interface
import com.nokia.lib.Service;
// Heading of the application
heading_txt.text = "Location Information";
// Create new Service object which has location information
var location = new Service("Service.Location", "ILocation");
// Define input parameters
var inParams = {LocationInformationClass:"GenericLocationInfo"};
// Define result value
var outParams = location.GetLocation(inParams);
// Check if getting the location information was successful
if (outParams.ErrorCode == 0) {
// If no errors get Location information (longitude and latitude)
var outList = outParams.ReturnValue;
var longitude = outList.Longitude; // Contains longitudinal data.
var latitude = outList.Latitude; // Contains latitudinal data.
text_txt.text = "Longitude: "+longitude+"\rLatitude: "+latitude;
} else {
var errorId = outParam.ErrorCode;
text_txt.text = "Error: "+errorId;
}
stop();
Note: This example code illustrates how to retrieve details of the specific location information using GetLocation() synchronously.
The current location (longitude and latitude) of the device is displayed.
