Contents

Key Features

Carbide.c++ Professional includes system-level on-device debugging for complete access to all system threads and memory, and Carbide Performance Investigator for performance optimization. These key tools are available exclusively in this premium IDE, which is the only member of the Carbide family to support application development on early prototype hardware.

System-level On-device Debugging

System-level on-device debugging adds visibility to system-level code and memory to the debug environment. This is especially important for developers working on new device designs, or developers testing their applications with pre-production prototypes. It requires devices on which the manufacturer has installed an R&D certificate.

Full-Featured Debugging

The Carbide.c++ debugger helps developers find and repair software defects quickly, in the emulator and on the phone. Features include the following:

  • View Symbian OS descriptors in a string format.
  • View call stack/thread information, variables, disassembly, and phone console.
  • Set breakpoints, watchpoints, and eventpoints (log, script, pause, etc).
  • Browse modules, global variables and functions related to the current debug context.
  • Configure, display, and monitor memory contents.

System Requirements

Operating system: Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4 or Microsoft Windows XP SP2.

  • 2GHz processor; x86 architecture
