ESbox

From Forum Nokia Wiki

The ESbox plug-in for Eclipse provides useful functionalities that help the software development for maemo platform. ESbox is licensed under EPL (Eclipse Public Licensed) and was extensively tested under Ubuntu Linux, but it may work properly also on other Linux distributions. It is possible to develop maemo applications using C/C++ or Python. All the tasks that are supposed to be executed inside Scratchbox (compilation and linking, for example) are performed transparently to the developer on ESbox. Therefore, the programmer does not have to know how compile an application for maemo using command-line tools on Scratchbox.

ESbox Screenshoot

ESbox provides easy access to available functions through graphical user interface widgets, such as tables, trees and buttons. For example, the application can be executed or debugged by clicking on a single button. Another advantage of ESbox adoption is the positive impacts on software development process. For example, the developer saves time and effort to develop maemo applications because some repetitive tasks are automated by ESbox. Besides that, the constant switching between the programming tools involved on process is no more needed: the developer has access to all necessary tools under ESbox plug-in.

For more information about it, such as features list and installation instructions, visit ESbox web page (http://esbox.garage.maemo.org).
