Qt for Maemo - getting to the fast-lane is one of several Qt presentations by Pekka Kosonen available on slideshare.com. This slideset was presented at the Qt developer days October 13th.
Qt is the open source framework that allows developers to write one set of code and natively deploy it on several platforms including S60 and Maemo based devices.

These applications are something you may never have heard about but are cool to have. .

| Win an N97 in the Forum Nokia Wiki Review an Article Contest | Sep 1st, 2009 |
You can win an N97 multimedia device by giving your approval to one or more Wiki articles you judged to be accurate, reliable and well written. The purpose of this competition is to provide additional feedback pointing out high quality articles that are tested by the community. With this information non-members and new developers will be able to trust the code examples and articles with the designated Reviewers Approved Thumbs Up. If in doubt they may read the comments that explain why they were reviewer approved.
Anyone that creates a review has a chance to win. One device will be awarded randomly to someone that positively rates an article with review comments. Of course those with the most quality reviews will be the winners but everyone has a chance to win. At least five Nokia N97 are to be awarded for this contest that starts 00:01 September 1st, 2009 until 11:59 September 30th, 2009.

| New S60 Browser 7.1 includes Flash Lite 3.0 and other enhancements | Jul 23rd, 2009 |
Nokia has introduced S60 Browser 7.1. This new mobile browser is based on WebKit 525, and adds features and updates contributed by Nokia and other members of the WebKit open source community.
For developers the introduction of S60 Browser 7.1 delivers full support for Flash Lite 3.0. It also extends support for S60 Platform Services to selected S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2 devices.
The new browser is pre-loaded in these S60 3.2.3 devices: Nokia 6710 Navigator, Nokia 6730 classic, Nokia N86 8MP device, Nokia E52 messaging device, Nokia E55 messaging device, and Nokia E72 device. Other selected S60 3.2.3 devices will gain S60 Browser 7.1 through firmware updates.
Early versions of S60 Browser 7.1 were released without support for onKeyPress to capture select and navigation key events. This omission affects both web and WRT widget code. Later versions of the browser will correct this omission.

Overall, it’s been great to see the variety of information you have been contributing to the community! Alen Alebic - The GridMenu Component for Flash Lite is a great example of mobile specific implementation of a familiar component that can easily be utilized in any application.
JasperJager - The Kinetic Scroll Component for Flash Lite displays in a nice way how to utilize the interaction possibilities of the touch screen. Using this component surely will save time.
Kamaljaiswal - Kamaljaiswal did a really great job with Themes:S60 UI Components and other themes articles, creating a lot of new valuable resources for themes!
Mayankkedia - Mayankkedia has written a plethora of articles of which the Listbox Usability is one good example. Also the improvements to many existing articles, and spicing up numerous earlier text only based articles with illustrative visuals, such as Colors in User Interface, have been noted.
Aadhar14b - Nice articles, such as Information Visualization For Mobile Applications with a lot of images and out of the box thinking was what won the N97 for Aadhar14b

The month of May has flown by and we’ve got some winners for the May Mobile Design wiki challenge! We’re pleased to announce that the winner of the CS4 Web Premium software and a brand new shiny 5800 Xpress music device is Croozeus, Pankaj Nathani, who contributed great patterns such as fly out menus and application layouts. Two more 5800 Xpress devices are going out to Feliperodrigues and Prakash.raman, who also stepped up with some great contributions! Keep an eye on your mailbox you two, you should be getting them soon. Special recognition goes out to Yiibu, who kicked off the challenge with some extremely informative and inspirational patterns! We want to thank everyone who participated- considering this is a new area we’re exploring for the wiki, you guys have certainly stepped up to meet the challenge, and the results have been great. We look forward to seeing you all (and more!) participate in this month’s Mobile Design Challenge part 2! Join us on congratulating the winners!
It is with great pleasure to announce the four winners of the March Wiki Edit contest.
The first overall winner is Savaj with his many useful and insightful edits on the Wiki. First runner-up overall was Mind freak who seemed to have spent all his free time polishing up articles. Since we felt it was not fair to have Forum Nokia champions competing against the general contributors, Kamaljaiswal was selected as a winner among the Forum Nokia champions. Dougcn edited many articles this month through translations and he was the fourth winner of the editing contest.
