Overview

Sound quality is poor when an OMA forward-lock protected AMR-WB tone is downloaded and played with the Recorder application.

Description

When the same content is played with the Profiles application, the sound quality is good. If the tone is downloaded as a plain file, without the OMA forward-lock, the sound quality is normal.

How to reproduce

Wrap an AMR-WB type tone into an OMA forward-lock package and download it to a Nokia 6600 phone. After this, play the tone with the Recorder application.

Solution

Corrected in S60 2nd Edition, Feature Pack 1 and Nokia 7610 onwards. S60 2nd Edition, Feature Pack 1 is on top of S60 2nd Edition.
