Launching the browser with the platformRequest() method in Series 40 2nd Edition devices
KIJ000074
Overview
When using the platformRequest() method, the user must close the MIDlet before the browser is launched.
Reported against
Series 40 2nd Edition, Nokia 6230, Nokia 5140
Date identified

Symptoms

Detailed description
According to the specification, the platformRequest(String URL) method should launch the browser if the URL is in an appropriate form (with or without the MIDlet running in the background). However, the browser is not launched until the MIDlet is closed by the user with the notifyDestroyed() method, since pressing the RED key does not start the browser. However, starting a voice call works immediately without exiting the application.
