Configuring preferred Internet access point in Nokia 3220
KIJ000077
Overview
Configuring the preferred Internet access point in Nokia 3220 may cause problems.
Reported against
Series 40 2nd Edition, Nokia 3220, software version 3.35
Date identified
October 22, 2004
Symptoms
-
Detailed description
Nokia 3220 has limited capabilities for configuring the preferred Internet access point settings for general use (such as MIDP 2.0 applications). The only way to enable the access is to use OMA Client Provisioning over the air.
How to reproduce
-
Solution
Operators should add an Internet (<parm name="INTERNET"/>) tag to some of their napdefs (Network Access Point Definition) they use to provision to the devices. It is quite simple if the operator has a flexible mechanism for this. However, if the operator has a hardcoded settings string that is sent to devices, this causes some additional work.
