From Forum Nokia Wiki

Illogical functionality in lights settings in Nokia 3220
KIJ000183
Overview
In a situation where lights sequences are set to OFF and Application lights are set to App. Defined, light sequences are OFF. This is not correct behavior.
Reported against
Nokia 3220 (SW 3.x0)
Date identified
January 20, 2005
Symptoms
-
Detailed description
Light sequences are configured in two places: in the Settings menu and in the Games menu. The Games menu settings should take precedence over the Settings menu when games MIDlets are used. This does not work correctly. If the "Light Sequences" in the Settings menu is set to off, and the "Application lights" in Games menu is set to "App.defined", the lights should work, but they do not.
How to reproduce
-
Solution
This is fixed in newer software versions.
