Overview

Reported against
S60 2nd Edition and S60 2nd Edition, FP1
Nokia 6600, Nokia 3230, Nokia 6260, Nokia 6620, Nokia 6670, Nokia 7610
Category

Subcategory
MIDP 1.0 and 2.0
Date identified
January 25, 2007
Symptoms
-
Detailed description
When a MIDlet is placing a phone call using a platformRequest() method call and the "tel:" scheme, the browser is first launched on S60 2nd Edition and S60 2nd Edition FP1 devices before the system tries to make the phone call (or asks the user for permission to make the phone call).
This does not affect the phone call functionality, however the user has to close the browser application after the phone call.
How to reproduce
-
Solution
There is no workaround for this (avoiding the launch of the browser when a MIDlet makes a phone call).
This issue has been fixed in S60 2nd Edition, FP2.
