Description

The Access Point is asked repeatedly in certain S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 devices if no access point has been defined in beforehand for a MIDlet which uses network connection.


How to reproduce

1. Install and start a MIDlet.

2. Allow the MIDlet to access the Internet.

3. Choose an Access Point.

When the MIDlet closes the first network connection and creates a new one, the prompt about which access point to use is displayed again.


Solution

In affected S60 3rd Edition, FP1 devices the access point should be defined in the Application Manager in order to avoid repeating IAP inquiries. This problem is expected to be fixed in S60 3rd Edition, FP2.
