Description

When the phone signal is interrupted and continued while the user is downloading a Java application, downloading the application fails.

How to reproduce

1. Set your phone into GSM mode (non-dual mode) from the phone settings.

2. Start downloading a Java ME application by using the phone's browser. To reproduce the issue properly, the application should be relatively large so that the download takes some time.

3. Place the phone in a shielded place (that is, where the phone signal will be attenuated and connection cut off) to interrupt the download. Keep the device there for 5-10 minutes.

4. Remove the phone from the shielded place. Downloading should be continued but for the affected devices downloading does not continue.

Solution

This issue is expected to be fixed in future software versions, starting with some S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 devices and most S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2 devices.
