Description

If the device uses a network connection, a network indicator is always displayed in the top-left corner of the display.

However, in S60 5th Edition, the network indicator is not shown at all if the Java application being displayed uses a full-screen Canvas.

How to reproduce

1. Implement a test MIDlet by using, for instance, this example: File:NormalCanvasTest.zip.

2. Using the defined example, launch the test MIDlet and select Full Canvas. On the affected devices, the network indicator does not appear in the top-left corner of the display.

3. For comparison, select the Normal Canvas option. The network indicator appears correctly in the top-left corner.

Solution

This issue is expected to be fixed in future software versions, starting from S60 5th Edition.
