Maximum length of recognizer file names
KIS000385
Overview

Reported against
S60 1st Edition

Date identified

Symptoms

Detailed description
.mdl recognizer DLLs, installed under \system\recogs, should not have file names longer than 16 characters (including the extension). A recognizer with a longer filename may fail to load or cause the device to lock up during startup.
Note that pressing and holding the Edit (pen) key during startup will prevent add-on recognizers (and other autostart items) from being loaded. This may help in situations where the device cannot start normally due to a malfunctioning recognizer.
