Mobile operating system
From Forum Nokia Wiki
A mobile operating system (OS) is an OS that runs on a mobile device. Since feature phones usually run proprietary OSes, the term, mobile operating system, is more important in the context of smartphones. Most mobile OSes are provided with Software Development Kits (SDK) that enable ISVs to write 3rd-party software for them.
Major mobile operating systems are:
- Symbian OS
- Windows Mobile
- Various Linux-based platforms, such as
- Palm OS
- BlackBerry
