Nokia Research Center (NRC) is a separate unit within Nokia, not attached to anyone of the specific product development business units.
There are more than 1100 of people working for NRC including researchers, engineers and scientists, working in the Nokia Research Centers and Lablets that Nokia maintains around the globe. They have a variety of personal and technical backgrounds, but we are all working on research issues relating to mobilility of voice and data, management and communications.
The research is organized according to six themes: Digital Services, Physical Touch - Digital Match, Human Interaction, Data and Content Technologies, and Device Architecture. Work is usually organized according to a project structure with specific goals and timelines which vary from 6 months to 2 or even 3 years.
