Ruby

Ruby is best described in the terms of the Ruby community:

"A dynamic, open source programming language with a focus on simplicity and productivity. It has an elegant syntax that is natural to read and easy to write."

Currently there exists open source project for Symbian platform including Ruby support to the Symbian.

As it is quite a new project, it supports newer Symbian versions:

  • S60 3rd edition
  • UIQ3.0

It does not support much mobile phones specific API, but this will probably change as the popularity of the Ruby language is growing.
