S40 Sensors
From Forum Nokia Wiki
Mobile sensor APIs allow us to get the data from the embedded sensors. The first Nokia device with a sensor was the Nokia 3220 with Xpress-on™ Fun Shell cover. You can access to sensors's Xpress-on Fun Shell cover by using JAVA.
These sensors are now inside several S40 models : 8800 ARTE and 8800 ARTE Sapphire.
You can tap to show time (tap sensor) and put phone in silent mode or switch off clock alert with putting phone face down (accelerometer sensors).
