In order to submit applications for testing by the Symbian Signed program, publishers need to be the holder of a Publisher ID from an approved Certification Authority. TC TrustCenter is such an authority and, currently, it is the only authority recognized by Symbian Signed.
Please note that old Verisign ACS Publisher IDs are valid until they expire. Any new ACS ID (one that is acquired after June 2007) will not be accepted by the Symbian Signed web portal.
1. Submit a request to https://www.trustcenter.de/order/publisherid/dev
2. You'll need to provide various identifications to prove you are who you are. You need to provide documents of incorporation for your company.
3. Once you receive the certificate approval e-mail, follow the instructions in the e-mail that detail how to install the certificate to your web browser - and how to save (export) the certificate onto your hard disk.
4. Browse to http://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page/dev/toolSummary
5. Download tool labeled 'TOOL9 - "tcp12p8" tool to export TrustCenter Publisher IDs.'
6. Use that tool to convert the certificate to a .key / .cer pair.
