Overview

Attachment sizes and e-mail limitations in the Nokia 9300 and the Nokia 9500

Description

What is the attachment size supported in the Nokia 9300 and the Nokia 9500 Communicator?
Are attachments supported in both Series 80 E-mail and Calendar application?

Solution

In practice the bottleneck will probably be the restrictions imposed by the mail server. The e-mail body size is limited to 1MB.  Files attached to mails (for example, from the MMC) are copied to the temp folder on the C drive of the Series 80 device, so attachment size is limited by the amount of free space on the C drive. The same limitation applies to receiving attachments.
The default Nokia 9300 and Nokia 9500 e-mail applications support attachments. The default Calendar applications on these devices do not support attachments; they provide a "Notes" field only. The notes field has a similar user interface to e-mail attachments, but it provides text-only features.

Summary

E-mail applications support attachments. The only limitation for the size of an attachment is the amount of free space on the C drive. The e-mail body size is limited to 1MB.
