Switch Automatically" in Internet Connection setup
There is a check box labeled ’Switch Automatically’ in Internet connections setup. What does this do?
Symbian OS 7.0s starts a connection by trying each connection in the preference table in order — dropping down to the next one in the list if it cannot start the current one. But does the automatic switching imply that if you are currently connected with a lower-priority connection and a higher-priority one suddenly becomes available, that the system will automatically switch from the current connection to the now active preferred connection?
This check box is not operational in current software versions.
The system will not switch back from a lower-priority connection to a higher-priority connection. If this would happen, you would loose your IP address in the transition, and all connections would break.
